Here are 4 tips to clear the makeup clutter in your bathrooms!

1. Pairing Down/Purging

How many makeup bags to we have hidden in our drawers, cabinets and closet spaces? Over time these makeup bags wear down and build up in causing clutter and congestion in our bathroom spaces. We recommend pairing these bags down to your favorites. Only 2-4 regularly used makeup bags for every day use and 1-2 travel bags for makeup when you need to have a bigger bag to take on vacation. Make sure these bags are functional and working. Also purge old lotions, nail polishes, shampoos and other skincare items. If you won’t use it or it’s expired it is time to throw them out or donate.

2. Expired Makeup

When makeup expires it can become a hazard to your skin and face health.Putting on makeup past it’s prime leads to skin irritation, acne and even eye infections. If you have been mysteriously breaking out it could be your makeup. Attached is a simple expiration tip sheet so you can easily check if you have expired makeup in your home.

3. Makeup Travel

4. Makeup Storage

Once your cabinets and drawers are clear of the clutter its time to reorganize your makeup storage. The Container Store and Target (among other places) have drawer organizers for your countertop and separators for your drawer space. Figure out what is easier for you if in the drawer still find dividers and drawer organizers so you can easily find exactly what you are looking for. Figure out what style you want, if you are a person who stuffs things where they can be hidden (I am one of these people) try keeping the makeup in clear containers so you can’t hide other items in the containers and are more likely to keep the space more organized.

Hope these tips help you on your journey of organization! Feel free to ask questions or tag us in any before and afters posts.
