I don’t know if your like me but life seems to move too fast at times! Between my kids, husband, social engagements and work it is all to easy to get these schedules in a mess. There is no way I could keep track of all my families’ schedules without planning it out. Planning out your life is a simple and easy way to ease your load and organize your life.
The key to planning is figuring out what works for you! There is no one right way to plan.
Start by evaluating how you would like to plan. If you are always on your computer or phone maybe that means you should download an app or use your computer calendar. If you are a person that needs to write it down on paper or loves lists then maybe the bullet journal or wall calendar is the right thing for you. Whatever it is be true to where you are in life. If you know you will forget set reminders in your phone, its okay!
For my family we use a combination of paper and computer. I am someone who needs to write it out, for some reason it resonates better in my mind if I have written it out/seen it on paper. I like to use a bullet journal (which I will write about another time) when I have time but I also have a back-up planner for when I hit a busy season and cannot dedicate the time needed to maintain the bullet journal. For a while I tried to stick to the bullet journal during a busy season only to end up standing up a friend of mine because I didn’t have it written down! I felt so terrible and knew that something needed to change in my planning life, which is when I turned to an amazing back up planner. Besides the paper planner, I also share an iPhone calendar with my husband. This is where we both put important dates with reminders for when we both need to remember an appointment or family event. This planning system won’t work for everyone, this just shows that you need to be creative and figure out what works for you and your family!
Once you have figured out what works for your life you won’t need to stress about where you need to be or what needs to get done today versus next week, it will all be written down!
