I don’t know about you but I love Halloween, my kids look adorable in costumes and everyone is so happy! But sometimes the aftermath leaves a trail of clutter. The old costumes take up space in our closets and the leftover candy can take up space in our pantries not to mention create conflict over who is or is not going to get cavities after a week of candy!
Here are some tips if you would like to clear the clutter after the Halloween night is over!
Candy – Once you have had your night of candy fun here are two places you can trade or donate the candy leftovers:
- Halloween Candy Buyback Program – Here local Dentists will buy back your candy at $1 per pound and then send the candy to troops overseas. This is a great way to start the tradition of trading candy in for something fun! They have many locations all over Arizona and the nation!
- Operation Gratitude – This organization has many drop off locations across the country. Here you can donate your candy directly to the troops. This is a great way to spread some joy and holiday cheer to those serving our country.
Costumes – Once your kids have outgrown their costumes you can resale them or donate them here:
- ‘Ween Dream – Send your costumes to this non-profit where they will match it with a child in need for the Halloween season.
- Kid to Kid or Once Upon a Child – Resale them through a local children’s resale store such as these that have locations all across the U.S. If you have the space save them in a storage container or vacuum seal bag to resale before the next Halloween season.
Hopefully this helps the transition from Halloween to holidays!
