Today on the blog I wanted to share a closet transformation with you! This client wanted a fresh start but was overwhelmed with where to start, did they need a custom closet installed for all of their clothes? Was the solution more space? See what we did!
Step One – Decluttering: We started by diving in and sorting through every item in the closet. What items they didn’t love and or didn’t fit was donated or tossed. The non clothing items were sorted through as well, did it need to be in the master closet or could it be moved to another area of the house? Sorting through and clearing the clutter creates space for practical and inspired living. If all that is in your closet are pieces you love and fit you right you will save time and feel inspired as you start the day!
Step Two – Creating Tidy Systems: Once everything was sorted through it was time to put systems in place. We added strategic storage pieces from Target to create a somewhat custom feel without needing to invest in installing a completely custom closet.
We were able to free the space completely on the right side of their closet so they could easily access their, frequently used, suitcases and purses. The shelf dividers seen here create a clean look and ease of use. Each bag now has it’s own home. Target: Clear Shelf Divider
We moved all of the clothing to the upper rack creating for a semi custom storage system. These systems were easy to put together and measured out perfectly to fit their space and needs. The system created the feel of a custom closet. Target: 3 Shelf Closet System
Above the shelf we used clear containers from the container store to create a clean streamlined look. This gave so much function to the space as well. They can now easily see and access those projects and boxes. The Container Store: Clear Storage Boxes
We are so excited to see this transformation and we hope you enjoy this as well!
